Floyd does not participate in the fight night weigh in so you have to take his word for what he weighed on fight night, or not. I think he tends to say he weighed less than he actually weighed to make himself out to be the smaller fighter that wins anyway because of his great skill. Maybe he is telling the truth about what he weighs on fight night. If he won't get on the scale there is no way to know for sure. One thing people forget. when the fighters make weight for the official weigh in they are striped down to their underwear or sometimes wearing nothing if the underwear puts them an ounce or to over. When HBO or Showtime weighs fighters for the fight night weigh in it is shortly before the fighter enters the ring. The fighter will have on his boxing trunks, foul protector, boxing shoes and a pair of 8 or 10 ounces boxing gloves. All that stuff together has got to weigh a few pounds but they never subtract it from the fight night weight. So if they say Canelo weighed 172 on fight night his weight would probably have been 168 or 169 if they had weighed him in only his underwear the way they do at the official weigh in. I think they like to have a huge difference between weigh in weight and fight night weight for the shock value.

With that said, the Canelo fight should happen at 154 and I've never said anything different.

My post is really what the talk has been ever since Canelo beat Trout.

That said, at least you agree that the fight should be at 154. Ever since the trainers from both sides confirmed that there was talk about Floyd requesting Canelo comes down to 147, some Floyd fans were agreeing with that thought and coming to the rescue with "but Floyd has never weighed more than bla bla bla ....

He's right, that Ortiz fight is the only time he's let them weight him in fight night, since his unretirement.

I'm laughing right now, so the new picture that's tryin' to get painted is, Canelo ain't that much bigger than Floyd?

At the end of the day 22 pounds is a significant size advantage, I think the main issue here is that we need to bring back same day weigh ins, because the only reason people find this fight appealing is because of Canelo's size, although Mayweather has faced bigger foes since the start of his career.

not. hes proven himself a liar time and time again.

again, i would refer people to view his body from the baldo fight to the guerrero fight. you think there's a pound between those bodies?

Looks the same, except more defined. During the Baldomir fight Mayweather could have made 140 still.

Apparently the picture that's really trying to get painted is that the fact that the 154 lb champion should not fight the other 154 lb champ. That's pretty odd.

Nobody is saying Canelo wouldn't be much bigger. What I'm saying is 22lbs is probably bull****. It'd be less than 15lbs fight night.

And that's no argument for same day weighin. the lesson is, stay away from weight classes you're too small for, or at least be honest, drop the belt, and don't be boasting you're #1.
