those were good fights but none better than hbo's.

hbo may have put up a lot mismatches and repeated rematches
but at least they gave fans something to remember.

showtime put up great matchups, its the fighters that didnt deliver

Showtimes fights were much better quality of competition. HBO had some FOTY cands but.... lets be real rios-alvarado is two mid lvl fighters and you knew it'd be a war. Bradley-Prov turned into a foty but... nothing to do with HBO it was scheduled as a one sided schooling but Bradley fought dumb and made it good. TBH Showtime is putting the more quality fights together by FAR, just turns out the mis-matches hbo are putting together don't always go as planned, is how I see it. Either way watch both... enjoy the sport....

Maybe, but the fights turned out better..That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometime..I said both Networks have put together some good fights, but HBO has out shined Showtime in the action that was delivered..

Which is why most of the FOTY fights have been on HBO..Both have made some really good match-ups..HBO delivered better fights..That's the only point I'm making..

The Networks wanted this kinda comp tho..They directly went after one another when they started dealing with mainly one promoter..Like it or not they both issued a challenge to the other..It is a great thing for the fans tho,and forcing the best fights to made tbh..

Fair enough, but how is that showtimes fault or to HBO's credit?

People are praising networks when they have little to do with how the fight turns out. If you look at this year so far and fights scheduled for the rest of the year, Showtime > HBO by a mile.

I would never even discuss this if people weren't falsely crediting or discrediting each network. And honestly, I'm really just trying to understand how and why people are even arguing about this... It's unbelievable to me, and I can't wrap my head around it..

If you don't have both networks, how can you call yourself a hardcore boxing fan?

Bu that's not true. Showtime has put on more quality fights this year. HBO has just been fortunate for more of their fights to turn out as FOTY.

You are acting as if HBO is making all the decisions and match making. They buy the fight if it interests them. That's it, and basically at this point they have to buy mostly top rank fights.

Showtime > HBO as far as quality fights this year. HBO and showtime have delivered nothing but a paycheck. How exciting the fight is, was up to the fighters and to a lesser extent the promoters.

No one gave a hoot about Bradley/Ruslan , HBO just got lucky the fight turned out as good as it has.

Dude I can't agree with you here..Bradley Marquez is one of the most meaningful fights that can happen for the rest of the yr..Unless Mayweather fights Alvarez..Pac vs Rios also can compete with Garcia vs Matt's(in terms of action and significance)I think they are pretty evenly match(meaning the networks)and they can keep giving us some great fights..

I mean how meaningful was Matt's Peterson..Just as meaningful as Froch Kessler and Bradley Prov are..It could set up a big Froch Ward fight in the UK,Bradley Prov set up Bradley Marquez..I really can't agree with you that Showtime put on the more meaningful fights bro..I also can't agree with you that they have the more meaningful fights moving forward..

BTW I have both networks,I have to say imo HBO is doing a slightly better job..Give it to the fighters or whatever, but for my money,HBO has put on the better shows..
