I don't think Mayweather is ever going to fight Canelo this September, September of next year or any other month in any other year. I don't think Mayweather will fight Matthysse either. Mayweather gets a minimum of 32million no matter who he fights and he does not give a damn what the fans think. He will finish up his last five fights with showtime and retire with a minimum of risks. I have no proof that is what he will do, just my opinion. I am pretty sure Mayweather will fight on September 15th 2013 and his opponent will be a welterweight or a jr. welterweight. If Alexander's hand is ok it could be Alexander or it could be Garcia or Khan.

I agree. Mayweather doesn't want to give Canelo the opportunity to dethrone him, and he's probably flat out scared of Matthysse, who I think represents an even bigger threat to his 0 than Canelo.

Matthysse is a present day Rocky Marciano. Hard chin, hard hitting, always in great shape.

The more I think about it, the more I see Khan as an opponent for Mayweather in the near future. Khan has great speed, but he's got significant fundamental flaws and a very suspect chin.

Mayweather is going to want to get a knockout soon, and Khan is someone who presents that opportunity.

Garcia, I'm not so sure about that. It's a possibility, but I could see Mayweather ducking him. Garcia has big power and punching precision. I'm not sure Mayweather wants to risk his 0 vs. the combination of skills.

At the same time, Garcia looked very beatable vs. Judah, and that might have some appeal to Mayweather.

The funny thing is, Mayweather is always saying: "I only want to fight the best".

Mayweather-Matthysse makes no sense right now. Lucas needs a couple more fights under his belt, and at 147! This would be a career suicide for Matthysse. He would lose and his stock would drop.
