Moving down never works well for older fighters.

I agree he should move back to his best weight of 147. I think you over estimate how much influence the members of boxing scene have on multi million dollar fighters like. Cotto. Cotto is not going to do something he does not want to do. He is not going to put in the extra work to get down to 147 because of a boxing board petition. That picture you put up shows the difference between a true 154 pounder in the rock hard Trout and a fat 147 pounder in the somewhat soft Cotto. Regardless, he will stay at 154, petition or not.

He looked good against Floyd because Floyd isn't a JMW. Mayweather isn't even big for 147.

I find it funny that failed high school sport players and current mattress warehouse salesman are calling a professional boxer who has reached and maintained the highest levels of achievement "lazy."

33 and hasn't been there since 2009. He'd be another Dawson or De la Hoya and then you morons would say that he was ****** to drop in weight. He's always been an 8 round fighter who in his prime had just enough in the championship rounds, he's not in his prime, so now he's just and 8 round fighter, and going to 147 isn't going to change that.

There is a lot more matches there for him at 147 and ones he can win but he hasn't made that weight in years. I think GBP is planing on making Ortiz vs Cotto at 154 in sept in NYC.

I dont think he looked good against Floyd. I think Floyd looked bad against him. Floyd was overtrained out of his mind, and looked washed up. My point was that he was BIG and strong against Floyd. He looked like a truck.

Pro boxers are held to a different standard than the man on the street. Cotto is not soft or fat by guy on the street standards but who looks leaner with a lower percentage of body fat, Trout or Cotto? I think Cotto would be better off at 147. Look at the pictures of old Mosley at the weigh in for his last fight at 147. He fought at 154 before and he looks much leaner than Cotto in for that fight in Mexico and he performed well for his age. I am almost 70 years old so I don't have muscles like Cotto. I walk 5 fast miles every day and lift weights and punch the bags. I am 5 foot 9 inches tall and weigh 145 pounds which is much lighter than the 156 pounds I fought at as an army boxer of 22 years of age. I don't have any extra weight on me at all.
