Comments Thread For: Team Cotto Do Not Rule Out Any Scenario, Canelo Too

Gaby Peñagarícano, the legal adviser to former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-4, 30KOs), has informed BoxingScene.com that several scenarios are being explored for Cotto's fall return.

One of those scenarios, as already revealed by Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, is having Cotto debut at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Schaefer has set aside a date of September 28th at the venue.

Don't do it, Cotto. Floyd needs to accept this fight. He still has his 154 belt and needs defend it later this year. It's better to fight that spoiled prima donna now before he gets better and his ego gets even bigger.

Retire before your brains get any more scrambled. There's no decent middle weight you can beat: they'll all hand you your head.

I don't like Canelo because I think he has been fed a steady diet of tomato cans to inflate his win record. With that said, I can't deny the fact that this kid had been dramatically improving each fight. While I don't feel he is ready for Floyd, there is no doubt in my mind he gives Cotto fits. Cotto shouldn't take this unwinable fight. If he does, he'll just be another named added to Canelos resume. I would give Cotto mad props if he does though. But I'm betting he fights some tomato can and calls it a tuneup.

The best option for Cotto right now is Kid Chocolate. I would love to see Cotto grab a belt in a fourth division before hanging em up. And IMO, Coco is the easiest mark out there for him. Coco can hit, but he fights like he's in a damn tough man competition and even at this point, I think Cotto could outbox him. Plus, that fight would be beyond huge in Brooklyn.

Cottos already blown up at 54, Kid Chocolate would destroy him at 160
