Mayweather vs Castillo 1,The complete scorecard

Your score seems reasonable. I scored the fight carefully round by round a few times and always had Castillo winning by two points but I don't remember each round anymore and I did not keep my score card. As I remember there were lots of close, hard to score rounds. Back then very close rounds were often scored as even rounds and I think I had a couple of even rounds. I won't argue with someone calling it a draw or even saying Mayweather won a close fight. To say Mayweather was a clear winner I think is BS. I thought Castillo took the fight to Mayweather and was the aggressor. He threw lots more punches and landed a few more punches. I think he deserved to keep his title.

Saw a thread about this before so i thought i would stick my own scorecard up of this fight, i scored the fight about 3 weeks ago and found it a real entertaining fight to watch, leave your thoughts on my card...

Round 1
Good aggressive start by Mayweather moving in to let his punches go and move away, Floyd utilizing the jab well bloodying up Castillo’s nose who just didn’t seem to land anything in the round, Floyds Round
Mayweather 10-9

Round 2
Good round for Mayweather, gave Castillo a flash knockdown early in the round that was ruled a slip, clash of heads resulted in Mayweather getting a slight cut over his eye. Mayweather still using his jab well and is making Castillo think twice about attacking because of some flush clean counters he is landing, another round for Mayweather
Mayweather 20-18

Round 3
Mayweather on his back foot this round popping Castillo with his Jab to the body and head, Castillo can’t seem to pin him on down and get to work because of Mayweathers fast footwork, Mayweather wins the round purely with his jab.
Mayweather 30-27

Round 4
Mayweather doing a good job of tying Castillo up on the inside, Castillo slowly turning this into a rough affair though closing Mayweather down landing short shots inside but he didn’t do enough to get the round on my scorecard, Mayweathers round and a clean sweep so far
Mayweather 40-36

Round 5
Castillo gets the first round on my scorecard but it wasn’t a clear round, Mayweather moving round the ring well on his back foot but Castillo found some success this round getting inside and landing body shots also finishing the round with a nice flurry, Castillo’s round.
Mayweather 49-46

Round 6
Mayweather back into his conventional stance listening to the orders from his corner, Castillo worked well this round he’s frustrating Floyd with his inside work Mayweather complained to the ref on more than one occasion this round especially after Castillo wrestled him to the floor, Castillo is now starting to fight his fight baiting Mayweather into a brawl and wins this round easy his best round so far
Mayweather 58-56

Round 7
Castillo throwing hard to the body following the old famous motto in boxing ‘the head moves but the body stays still’ Mayweather continues to back himself into a corner allowing Castillo to trap him and land his shots inside, Castillo finishes the round landing some hard shots that ignite the crowd Mayweather smiles at the end of the round but he’s got nothing to smile about this is Castillo’s round
Mayweather 67-66

Round 8
Mayweather reverts back to throwing his jab this round, the punch that won him the first 4 rounds on my scorecard, he moved better this round and was able to get his back off the ropes before Castillo trapped him there, it’s a close round but out of nowhere becomes a clear 10-8 for Mayweather when Castillo is deducted a point for hitting on the break. Big round for Mayweather and big moment in the fight just as Castillo was working his way back into it.
Mayweather 77-74

Round 9
Castillo came out very aggressive this round trying to quickly pull a round back after his point deduction, Castillo drives Floyd back in to the ropes to start the round but it allows Mayweather to land his counter right hand clean, Castillo has been the more aggressive fighter throughout Mayweather just moving with his back to the ropes, Castillo lands a nice uppercut at the end of the round Mayweather retaliates with a punch after the bell, Castillo’s round good comeback after the disastrous 8th

Round 10
Mayweather moving around this round and landing some nice clean shots on Castillo who is unable to really trap Mayweather up against the ropes, A frustrated Castillo slips a Mayweather punch and moves round to his back were the referee allows him to throw a serious of illegal punches while Mayweathers back is turned. Mayweather was about to win the round on my card but the referee steals the spotlight again taking a point from Mayweather at the end of the round for the use of the elbow. Mayweathers round with the point deduction its an even 9-9 round
Mayweather 95-93

Round 11
Mayweather starts the round darting across the ring to meet Castillo before he’s able to move out the corner, Castillo working well to the body inside Mayweather showing signs of frustration complaining to the referee for a low blow, Mayweather fighting Castillo’s fight this round staying in close with Castillo and neglecting his footwork Castillo mixed his attack up well landing well to the body and head and won the round on my scorecard.
Mayweather 104-103

Round 12
Mayweather back to using his feet this round moving around with his back to the ropes and throwing the jab, Castillo lands 2 questionable body shots that looked low, continues to press Mayweather up against the ropes and work inside with some hard body shots, Both fighters finish the round out standing toe to toe, Castillo wins the final round on my scorecard for his aggressive work.
Draw 113-113

Overview
This was an entertaining fight between a boxer and a puncher, Mayweather got off to a fast start and looked set for an easy night, the shoulder injury seemed to hinder his performance as his style of fighting changed in the middle rounds, Castillo worked well aggressively but the slow start proved costly in the fight as he didn’t win a round on my card until the 5th. I fought a draw was a fair result I didn’t see Mayweather winning the fight with scores of 116-111 and 115-111 x2, the rematch was definitely needed.

Fair assesment. I just thought that Floyd hit Castillo more than he hit Floyd. Good post.

I thought Floyd clearly won the fight. Castillo tried his best, but his rounds that he won were disputable, Floyd's weren't.
