Boxers 'tweeting' their way into a big fight

You see on Twitter a lot boxers tweeting and disrespecting other fighters, this then gets spread across forums and before long were talking about how a fight between them would go down. Is it possible for these guys to get themselves into a big fight though via social media we see Tyson Fury's disrespectful tweets towards the Klitschko brothers and other top contenders but he is yet to score a big fight with one of them, is their any point in boxers trying to do this or is it just to keep the fans of the sport entertained and interested
