Few things about being a the fight live...

First off this was the second time I went to the Boardwalk Hall to watch a fight and I was a bit surprised. I went to see Gamboa vs Solis and I remember the place being pretty crowded. For the Matthysse vs. Peterson bout it was not crowded at all. I was surprised being that Alexander (who has a title) was the under-card and the main event were two current titleholders and was potentially going to be one of the best fights this year. I was in the 100 row but moved into some ringside seats since the place looked pretty empty. I was happy the place was not too crowded since we got to move up and not get kicked out but was missing the atmosphere of a big event. The weather was pretty crappy but other than that, I don't know why it was so empty.

Undercard Fights: Undercard fights were ok. The opponents were basically there to take a beating but many of them didn't turn out that way. Cesar Seda (24-1) got matched up to walk through his opponent but his opponent Miguel Tamayo (14-5) was pretty game even though he pretty much lost every round. Thomas Griffin was got an easy opponent but he could not get him out of there either. Khan's brother Haroon Khan was in there too look impressive also in which he did to a guy that looked lost in there (the guy was 0-5 with all 5 losses by KO. Nothing Impressive there.

Most Impressed By: Shawn Porter put on a boxing clinic. He was on top of his game against Greco who was undefeated but no known opponents. He looked fast and he kept busy. It was good to see him display his speed and footwork live.

    The Main Event:
There was exciting to watch. Less dramatic and everything happened so fast. I just re-watched the replay on demand. The crowd went nuts when Peterson got knocked down but a soon as he was out, most of the pro Peterson crowd just left. Stadium was even emptier.

Other fighters and boxing celebrities: Got a chance to quickly talk to Steve Smoger. He thought Peterson was going to keep Matthysse away and possibly get the nod. I told him well at some point he is going to get hit, he shook his head and said "you're right". My buddy got a pic with him. He is a pretty cool guy. Danny Garcia was getting mobbed afterwards for pictures. Props to Garcia who took the time to take a pic. There were so many people taking pics with him I know he was getting tired of it but he ****** it up and tried to please everyone. Peter Quilin was also posing for pics, pretty humble guy. Malignaggi was walking around before the telecast and mingling with fans. It was nice watching these guys just interacting with other people and all this was possible because it wasn't crowded at all.

It sounds pretty bad ass man, I'm always too broke to go to any live event though. I hope to change that soon, I am making it my goal to go to a live event within the next year. I'd love to go to Bardley-Marquez, it would be so damn cool.

If you can make it to Boardwalk Hall do it. Is such a smaller venue. My tickets were $50 ($67 after ticketmaster ****s you) but was lucky enough to move up.

I was going to go but couldnt at the last second. I was really upset about it after going to so many fights lately and telling alot of people I would be there. I was really hyped for the card. The way everything turned out though, Im really ok with not being able to go now.....lol

The undercards seemed like a bunch of mismatches. Im glad for the Porter crew but all the other fights seemed to leave alot to be desired. Then the main event couldve saved the day if Peterson had brought the fight to Lucas like he did in the 3rd round. He still may have got KTFO early but it couldve been more in a Hagler-Hearns type way that wouldve made me feel more fulfilled on the whole night

The couple of stoppages during the untelevised fights ******.

Btw I got to talk to a couple of the Mexicans that lost and they were cool as **** too. At first they couldn't understand me cause of the Cuban accent. Lol

I could go to one, I got some cash saved up....I'm really frugal though, lol. If I got something saved, I won't touch it. My monthly expendable income is scarce lately but I'm getting a weekend gig coming up shortly that should give me a buffer. The tickets aren't bad but the entire weekend would cost me a little bit.

$100.00 for the tickets (got to bring my girl), $150.00-$200.00 for the room, $100.00 for the night, $100.00 for the casino before I leave and $75.00 for gas.

$500.00.......I'd have to put that to the side over the course of a couple months. LOL, I'm laughing at myself as I type this because that's not really a lot. I think I'd like to meet up with some fellow NSBr's when I go so that I have some people to hang with. I know I'd be trying to get some photos with some boxers though....have to mingle with the "stars", lol.

AC would be better for me though, only like a 5 hour drive, not too bad.

I go to alot of fights and some times it adds up so I just cut corners. I went to Broner-Rees in AC. I just took the bus for $20 and they gave me money to play with at the casino. I use to go to Casinos to gamble but I dont to it anymore. Now I just sit at a machine and act like Im ******** so they can give me free alcohol. Hungout awhile, went to the fight, hungout in the casino after, and then caught a bus right back at like 4am so I didnt even need to get a room.......lol

Other times I drive & get rooms or fly & get rooms but sometimes you just have to cut corners. Its harder with a girl though because they can be a lil high maitnence....lol

Then you basically have to get a room and 99% of the time you have to drive or get a rental because they dont like buses
