Lucas needs to stay at 140 where hes dominate. Any one of the top contenders at 147 can give Matthysse all he can handle. Not saying they all win but Josesito, Alexander, Ortiz would all fancy their chances I think. Not saying they win but those guys could give Lucas a competitive fight.

I'm not buying Mattysse, at least not yet. He's a B+ fighter at this point. Everyone is in awe of his power and KO %, but they overlook his lack of boxing ability and inability to cut off the ring. Yes he can box, buts he's only a B level boxer at best. If you don't agree, explain why he was out pointed by Judah and Alexander who are both only B+ fighters? Yes you can argue he was robbed in those fights and I agree. However, he knocked both Judah and Alexander down and yet they were able to outbox him to make the fights close.

Judah and Alexander both have good movement. Lucas sucks at cutting the ring off. He should have ended those fights but he struggles with fighters with movement. If you don't believe that, watch the first and a half rounds of the fight with Peterson. Lucas was punching wildly that he looked silly at times. He even fell down from overthrowing. A good boxer keeps balance when punching, proving he still needs some work with his boxing. And no, Lucas wasn't looking for the KO that early, as he went on record saying he expected at late KO.

Put him in the ring with anyone with good movement and good boxing skills, ie Mayweather, Bradley, Marquez (although JMMs chin is suspect IMO), and they put on a clinic against Lucas.

Lucas needs to improve his boxing to the A level and cut off the ring, otherwise his ends up as a better version of Maidana with better boxing ability.

So you are saying FLOYD is refusing to fight Matthysse? Lol Cmon man that's a lose-lose fight for Floydif he wins he it would be considered cherry-picking. If he doesnt even consider Matthysse then they will say he's avoiding him. That would be another Arturo Gatti fight.

I agree he does hit hard, but you have to look at the people he has KO'd these havent just been world class fighters. Lets remember Peterson is a good fighter but has been dropped muliple times by much softer punchers (Bradley), Ortiz dropped a few times as well. So yes he does hit hard but it has been against world class fighters.

I agree with all those who think Matthysse should milk his stay at 140 before he faces Floyd. He should walk through the golden kids, build the next coming of Pacquaio image that Golden Boy is trying to pull, fight wannabe Floyd Broner for the IBF title if he beats Paulie an take Floyd in one of his last fights.

At this point, Matthysse would not make the money he could if he continues to build his image and Floyd would outbox Matthysse with ease.
