Taking nothing away from Lucas but that was a strange stoppage. The first knock down was definitely a good punch but all the replays CLEARLY showed Peterson blocking most of the finishing punch then the ref stopping the fight really without a clean connect. I think the fight should've went on and the real strangeness is their already putting together a card for September featuring both fighters, just saying....................

Of course he was gonna lose just saying it's strange. Im a 25 yr boxing fan and that stoppage was quick. That was a championship fight, the replay shows a blocked punch.Good win but I would've liked to see a real punch end it. Glad Lamont didnt get hurt though.Comment

According to the announcers they both landed 7 punches in the 1st with Peterson throwing 11 more punches but both only connected with the same amount 7! So the 1st round could've have gone either way depending on who's style or strategy you like.Comment

Holding should be returned with rabbit punches. There should be very little interference by the ref. Let them break themselves or let the offending fighter get punished for holding and clinching like what we saw in the Berto/Guerrero fight.Comment

I'm happy to see rabbit punches so long as the offending fighter has his arm tied up with his opponent's head clamped over his shoulder (which is what happened to Matthysse). Same when Guerrero rabbit punched Floyd in the early rounds and Floyd didn't like it.
If you don't want to be rabbit punched then don't tie your opponent's arm up and only leave the back of your head for him to hit.Comment
