Just rewatched it. I think you're right, after he throws it he falls back a little from his left foot not being planted and a little from Peterson's left hook. I've been following Peterson for a long time now, his ability to box has actually regressed and even before the Matthysse fight, I said his boxing ability is no better than Judah or Alexander's, in fact it may have actually proven to be worse. It's Peterson's aggressive style, infighting that has pushed him through and taken him this far. Peterson at best is a decent boxer, very very decent.

But instead of waiting for 8 months for Floyd in May, why not fit in a fight against the Lopez/Maidana winner or Alexander/Khan winner in January? Stay active, because real talk, I don't think the Garcia fight is going to last long. He's only had 4 rounds of real fight action this year. He'd still be fresh and would also shut people up saying "He's not a real WW."

I know there will always be haters, especially for Floyd, but if he fights Canelo in September and then Matthysse next May, provided he wins the fights until then, that is damn impressive for a 36 year old.
