I was at the Peterson vs Khan fight ... the seating arrangement was horrible bc it was being held in the Convention center, so it was not stadium seating, but this fight is supposed to go to the Verizon center, so that wont be an issue

Neither fighter is from there. Peterson-Khan did very well there but it's Peterson's hometown so it made sense...this doesn't.

It should be in New York, Atlantic City or Las Vegas. Hell, even Philly as Garcia is from there.

GBP has an exclusive deal with Barclay's Center in Brooklyn to do fights in New York. If that venue is booked for something else you will not see them do a fight at MSG because of the Barclay's deal.

They also say Boardwalk Hall in AC is already booked.

They may not want to put it in Vegas because it's only one week before the September 14th card GBP plans on doing there.

Philly to me would make sense as Garcia is from there, but does his hometown even care?
it makes sense bc Danny's fans from Philly and NY are within driving distance, and if you put Peterson vs Judah on the undercard it will be a big sell ... I love the idea, but maybe it's bc i'm like 5 mins from dc

No... The seating arrangement sucks in ummm... forgot the name of the venue now. All the seats are on the same level. The Verizon Center seating doesn't suck by any means.

DC makes as much sense as anything else. Peterson had like 80% of the fanbase in AC. So my guess is Garcia's fans would def show up in DC. Also, chances are Matthysse won a lot of those Peterson fans over so they would probably show up to watch him in DC. Especially if you stick one or both brothers in the card.

Put one or two PEDersons on the undercard and good to go.

I'm in MD so I hope it happens. But it really only makes sense if Lamont is on the undercard. I doubt khan will want to fight him in dc again so Judah it is

I'm sure Schaefer has looked into several venues. They are probably booked for 9/7.
DC is a predominately African American market where as anywhere in NYC has a large Puerto Rican/Hispanic market. That fight would sell BIG in Barclays or MSG.

I thought the Peterson vs Khan fight was held in the Verizon center.

If the taxes are lower in DC than NYC, I could see that making sense.
