I understand it's a showcase for geale, but what for? Does anyone really care? Is he really going to look amazing vs barker? Does beating barker really even mean anything?

Geale vs barker on hbo, Imo is just a big waste of time for everyone involved.

Barker is going to beat Geale in this one if he can remain healthy through a long training camp. He's got more skills than Geale.
