Tremendous stuff. Not everyone has a chance to meet a great one like that. It means even more if that great one has died.

It's good to appreciate boxers regardless of nationalities. Nationalistic bull**** that sometimes is seen around here is ridiculous.

i think it happens just because we are such good fans , and it pisses us off to see others being as good of fans as we are so we trash on their figthers, plust thos are some good rivaleries.

I don't mind if I have to admit that a Mexican boxer is better than a certain PR boxer. What bothers me is to see someone discrediting the fighters of my country and sometimes badmouthing my country. For example, I saw another forum where a Mexican poster had a gif of Salvador stopping Gómez and saying that Gómez was ****. I mean, how ignorant can someone be? Wilfredo is the best 122 pounder ever and defeated Zarate and Pintor. I just hate when fans go blind.

But remember that most of those people who badmouth and discredit older fighters are those who lack knowledge of that fighter. Some of these people have never seen today's fights, how should we expect them to see yesterdays? They look it up on the internet and all of a sudden they claim to be educated about a certain fighter.

Wilfredo Gomez= mi favorito. One of the hardest P4P punching machines in the history of boxing. Not that I am making an excuse for the Gomez/Sanchez fight, but Gomez was having many, many issues b4 that fight. The rematch would have been amazing.
