Well start a poll then , it hasnt happened at least try and keep things reality instead of the constant what IF .

If you think about its no different than Manny ODH , The fight was at 147 because there is no way known Manny would fight him at 154 , Oscar done the calling out so Manny said fine at 147 a weight Oscar had not made in 13 years , this thing with Floyd is no different other than Floyd fought Oscar and Cotto at 154 even though he weighed 148 , Manny also fought for a 154 title so he could have said to Oscar ok 150 or he could have gave the weight to Oscar just as Floyd did .

Both situations you have the bigger guy calling out the little guy and the little guy says 147 , yet Floyd is a devil and Manny a saint , this is why I dont respect any Manny fans , they have no logic or fair play just worship and hate .

what makes Cherrypicker's catchweight worse is that Cherrypicker would beat the Ginger in any weight division, and also it's not even a catchweight, he telling the ginger to come all the way down to 147.

De La Hoya was the stupid one who drained himself, not Pac's fault.

        Dawson challenged Ward at 168.
Hopkins challenged Froch at a CW.

Floyd is however a champion at 154.
        Well, there we go.

Well Dawson volunteered to go down publicly and Delahoya outweighed Pac by 3 or 4 divisions but Mayweather is a 154 pound champ asking a fellow 154 pound champ to fight him at 147 so that makes his the biggest b1tch move out of all of them by farrrrrrrrr

Weight has become an "excuse" not to fight someone. Mayweather wins a 154 title but won't fight Canelo, fine he has fear of Canelo.
The federations had more power years ago to match the contenders against the champs but once the "junior BS titles" were accepted fighter gave up titles when it came to their manditory bouts because there was other BS titles to wear!

Henry Armstrong fought anyone from 130 to 175 and won! Because he was better than the other guy! Weight counts in reastlin' not boxing unless the smaller guy doesn't have more talent & skills than the bigger guy!

Do you really think that Mayweather can't beat the 50th ranked Middleweight?
You saw Roy Jones beat Heavies that doidn't have matching skills, its nothing new that a solid lil man can beat and average big man! Its about Talent!!
              Ray.
Not just talent but age and determination. A guy can be super talented but not have the physical ability to pull it off or the willingness to try.

Pacquiao drained Cotto a whopping 2 pounds. Pacquiao did not drain Oscar at all . Oscar drained himself by demanding the fight be at 147 so if he won he could try to claim the pfp title from Pacquiao. Instead of making weight in the standard way of drying out the last day or two and rehydrating after the weigh in Oscar strangly decided to get his weight below 147 weeks before the fight. It backfired and his body sort of shut down and he was unable to properly rehydrate.Ward did not challenge Dawson to a fight at 168. Dawson challenged Ward and said he could come in at 168 with no problem. Ward just accepted his challenge so I don't think he was quilty of draining anyone but just defending his title at the standard weight. Mayweather is asking a big 154 pounder to fight him at 147. Unlike Dawson, Canelo never said he could come in below 154 or offered to do so. Mayweather has been the WBA 154 pound superchamp since May of 2012 and Canelo is the WBA 154 pound regular champ so Mayweather is past due to defend his WBA 154 pound title against Canelo at the official weight of 154 pounds. Instead he demands that Canelo make 147 or no fight knowing Canelo can't possibly make that weight and will never agree to those terms. My opinion is that Mayweather's attempt to drain Canelo 7 pounds is the worst draining. It won't work. Canelo will probably have a big money fight with Cotto at 154 and Mayweather will fight a Goldenboy 140 or 147 pounder.

If thats the motivation, then one has no room to cry about it afterwards. As it is, 2 pounds was not the deciding factor in that fight. Mannys speed was.
