Floyd hit the ww division in 06. Margarito at the time was the divisions longest reigning beltholder, whose only loss since 1996, was to Daniel Santos, in 2004. So, no. When Floyd hit the welterweight division, Margarito wasn't coming off of losses to anyone. Floyd fought Baldomir instead of Tony in November and Tony fought Clottey in December. Again, Floyd chose to duck Margarito in 07 and fought DLH in May. It wasn't until July of that year, that Tony lost to Paul.

If you're going to talk boxing, know what you're talking about first.
Damn ur telling him to know what he's talking about, but yet you ignore the 2005 interview with Bob Arum saying he was trying to sign Floyd to a three fihht deal and said Floyd agreed and would have fought Margarito for 8 mil...yes he said it...he said that Floyd wanted 10 mil to fight Cotto or Hatton after that, then wanted 20 mil for DLH. Arum basically laughed it off and offered him less than 8 mil for his next two fights after Margarito. ..the rest is history.

It's not exactly "toe to toe" if they're "rolling around", now is it

As much respect I have for Virgil and understand where he's coming from on the "Sweet Science" (because I respect his aspect on it as well), he's not exactly right as far as MMA goes.

Btw, there's nothing completely wrong with "toe to toe". It makes for exciting fights. Is that wrong?

IMO, someone bashing MMA for being nothing but dudes rolling around are no less or just as ignorant as someone who says Boxing is boring with nothing but running, waiting, and hugging. And by "ignorant" I simply mean that they are uneducated about whichever of the two they're bashing.

Yup you nailed it there guy. ..Floyd left top rank and top rank fighters are the only guys he couldn't fight....hmmmm I wonder why. Wonder why oscar has the same problem. Wish I lived in ur imaginary world where all boxers have to do is say who they want to fight and *poof* it magically happens.

              • I've said this time and time again when it comes to Floyd. You can't race a kia with your ferrari then brag about how good you looked. Nobody is denying that Floyd has extraordinary boxing skills, but when those skills are on display against an over matched opponent, is it really all that impressive?

Nobody really disputes his skills though. Its his opponent selection that the majority of people have a problem with.
