from the videos I've seen they have another trainer with Marcos. Is this like the Donaire deal with RObert Garcia as a figurehead for the mexican fanbase?
Does Robert even train Marcos Maidana?

If this is true, I take my hat off to the wealth of Robert Garcia.
Easy money.. can't even help prep the 2012 FOTY fight a 2x Olympian, all gold amateur with over 300 bouts.. just shows up at the end.. what a ****** way to train in my opinion. The connection between a fighter and trainer is very important. -

Robert is the trainer of the year. Who else can train a fighter through the phone?Comment

He puts in his share of work with Marcos.. Every time I have been to his gym he is working with him on the mitts, giving advice, overseeing his sparring, etc... I do know that Marcos does a lot of work outside of the gym with S & C Coach Cecilio Flores...
Another thing about the gym is that there are a lot of trainers who sometimes have to fill Robert's shoes since he is often out of town traveling...

I think he does train him but there may be an assistant trainer or fitness trainer that helps train him. I have read on boxing scene quotes from Maidana with him referring to Robert as his trainer. He seems to be improving and I think he will KO Lopez.Comment
