Comments Thread For: Wilder Brings in Al Haymon To Reach "The Next Level"

Al Haymon remains boxing’s answer to the Wizard of Oz.

The low-profile boxing powerbroker has yet another addition to his ever growing stable, having signed unbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder early Thursday afternoon. The move comes on the heels of Wilder sorting out personal issues while awaiting his next move in the ring.

“I’m super excited,” said Wilder (28-0, 28KO) of the move. “Al is the piece of the puzzle I needed to take me to the next level. I already had a great team in place and now it’s even better.”

I've had an online chat with Wilder & he seems like a top bloke.

But I'm still not sold on him. Obviously very powerful but he swings like a caveman.

I would like to see him vs Arreola sooner rather than later.

I think Arreola would knock him out tbh.

Beating Audley Harrison hardly impressed me more than any of his other wins against no hopers.

Agree, but if Wilder has title aspirations beating the limited Arreola is a must. And it would be a great fight.

Why people call Haymon "powerful manager"? I mean, whats the real benefit of joining his team? I dont get it. He isnt Arum or Oscar to be called influencial or powerful.

maybe he'll hook Wilder with a better trainer. Unfortunately Steward passed.

Because he has a way of getting networks to blow their yearly budgets by about May of every year on his fighters. In addition. He has GBP wrapped around his finger.
