The World Boxing Association appointed their officials for the unification title fight between the WBA Super Middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35KOs), and IBF beltholder Carl Froch (30-2, 22KOs), that will take place at the Millenium Dome in London on Saturday May 25, 2013. Carlos Sucre and Jean Toupin will be in charge of the scorecards. Bulgarian Mariana Borissova will supervise this unification bout, and the winner of this rematch will have to face Andre Ward, who holds the WBA's "super title" at 168-pounds.

I don't see the winner facing Ward but we'll see.

Shame this isn't a proper unification match, it wouldn't given it that extra bit of ****e but, in reality, Kessler isn't World Champ

All this 'Super World Champ' ABA etc. Ward is the ABA Champion.

It's not enough that there's 4 belts (something that like most even though I don't like I've come to except - don't even go there with WBU and that nonsense), now there's 'Super champ', giving other's that really should be no:1 ranked contenders with that body, the title of 'World Champion'.

No wonder its confusing for the casual fan, to get understanding.

In layman's terms there's 4 champs and Kessler right now is NOT a Champion.

The only belt that means anything is the Ring these days.

Still, this fight should be a cracker, one to really enjoy - and I'm really looking forward to it.

WBA champion Kessler and IBF "beltholder" Froch ? It's Froch who's a champion and Kessler is only a fake beltholder in the story. Don't mix up the roles.
