Is anyone else not buying this new Mayweather nice guy act?

I think some where in his Showtime contract they told him to cut out all the buffoonary and foolishness.. I think they want him more likeable to the masses.

I mean HBO had dude looking like a clown at 35 years old, pirate mouth, showing cars and ***elry, him bragging about money and ********.
Just a scumbag, however i think that was the real Floyd..

This new calm, mature Floyd is an act if i ever seen one.

OR has jail really changed him? I doubt it.. Not in 2 months

Either way, dudes by far the best boxer on the planet. Andre Ward isnt too far behind tho

People act like 90 days wouldn't effect em, I am sure it wouldn't effect you immensely, but being locked up especially in his case for TWENTY-THREE hours a day leaves you ample time to think about life.

Most kids I grew up with that happen to of got locked up in juvenile halls when they were 13-15 are still out doing delinquent things whenever I hear of them or see them around. Being locked up leads to a lot of free time with oneself when time admits.

it's not an act.... that's how he's always been....

sure he does all that other bull**** when the camera's are on.... but for the most part he does this 'humble' bull****.....

he's always been like that when he visits the uk....

and he always does that after he beats a fighter.... calls them a champ, and great....

pure boxing skills don't sell ppv....

talking ****.... and making people want to see you get knocked out does....

that and guys who bulldoze mutha****as.

Honestly that's a lot of people get when the cameras are on them. Some people are naturally laid back, quite and soft spoken until a camera hits them. According to Floyd, HBO wanted him to keep that image to sell himself. I don't know if that is true or not. I tell you one thing though my brother turned into a completely different person after he was locked up. So it could be that him being locked up changed the way he wanted to be seen to the public or it just changed him in general.

Dude... This dude wasn't in the pen. Y'all being brainwashed by the whole jail changed me bs. You ever been to jail before? My dad did time and he wasn't locked up 23 hours a day. So idk WTF you talking about.

No, I don't buy the bs act.

I think HBO wanted Floyd to act like that because they believed it would help sell fights. Floyd partially believed this as well and that's why he played up the baffoonery for the cameras.

If you look at Floyd early in his career he hardly did any trash talking at all. It was only when he became a PPV fighter did he start with the trash talking. In my opinion Floyd exaggerates his personality just to sell fights, kind of like Ali did.

I think when his arrival at Showtime combined with his jail stint and increased media scrutiny made Floyd realize he didn't need to do the clown act to sell fights. He realized his behavior was now doing him more harm than it was doing him good and has since cleaned his act up a bit. And sometimes getting older changes you.

If a man is the same person he was five years ago that shows you he hasn't learned a damn thing and has wasted the past five years of his life.

Even before he went to jail people said hbo wanted him to act out a little which def made him more money. Also being older now and the jail thing made a difference. I don't think he's like pacquiao now but he doesn't put on a show as much now
