He fought Sturm,Hopkins, and Mayorga before he fought Floyd and he was not too big and Canelo has fought Lopez, Mosley, and Alfonso Gomez recently but he is too big. I haven't heard Floyd say that Canelo but die hard Floyd fans are all saying Canelo is too big.
So Oscar fought these guys before Floyd

I think many on here are misconstruing what a lot of people are saying. To say Canelo is too big can definitely be seen as defeat; Floyd would lose, but I don't think that's entirely the case here. Canelo does have a significant size advantage. Don't get me wrong, Oscar was huge but he also had stilt legs, Canelo will be the biggest opponent Floyd would have ever faced......
I see many are getting ripped for having that line of thinking, but Trout said it, Malignaggi said it, Danny Garcia said it so......
Canelo is built like a character out of Marvel

Floyd dominates him in my opinion, but lets not act like Canelo does not have a significant size advantage, lets not act like that isn't the reason why people are clamoring for this fight, I mean...who are we fooling?Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 05-13-2013, 05:40 PM. -
I haven't said Alvarez is too big. Alvarez could come in the ring at 190 pounds and he will still get his a$$ whipped by Floyd. No one has said anything about Alvarez being too big and fighting at a lower weight except Alvarez's trainer, an obviously biased source.
Alvarez started his career at 147 and move up for two reasons: the competition at 147 was too good and he lacks physical discipline. That is why he came in the ring a 172 in his last fight. Regardless of his weight, Flod will whip his ass.Last edited by big_james10; 05-13-2013, 06:05 PM.Comment

Come on, We both know Alvarez can'tmake 147 if he tried. He fought at that weight when he was like 17. Do you believe Trout can aslo make 147 since he came in at 171 against Alvarez?I haven't said Alvarez is too big. Really? He doesn't even look bigger than Mosley.I think many on here are misconstruing what a lot of people are saying. Marvel character LMAO!
Plenty of people have said it. To my surprise a lot of Floyd fans started a campaign to discredit this fight, as if Canelo was the bogeyman or something.Comment

First off let's be real thats a weigh in pic, not a fight night pic. Also, Floyd made his career fighting Oscar, Oscar was too big but was greatly worth the shot at fighting him, also we didn't know how Floyd would look at 154....answer is not great. You're picking part of the argument and ignoring anything that goes against your point.Comment

That's not even an indicator as he's coming down weight, even then I can clearly see that he's much bigger than Mosley and it looked far more apparent in the ring.
In the end though, the fight will happen

Don't they look like they're about the same size? A lot of people are going off his fight night weight against Trout, but for all we know this could have been a one time thing, like Matthysse rehydrating to 163 against Dallas or Bradley rehydrating to 165 against Provodnikov.
If Floyd only fought Oscar at 154 then you'd have a point. But he doesn't only go there to fight mega stars like Oscar, he also fought Cotto (and recently) who is a marquee name but nowhere near Oscar's status. Canelo's popularity is growing rapidly and he's not far behind Cotto in terms of name value. The fact that he's mexican could even make him a more lucrative opponent than Cotto because of the big mexican american market for boxing.Comment

How Canelo wiped his ass with Mosley's inside game was a little bit scary. I know Mosley's shot, but Alvarez just stood his ground saw everything, made those shots that landed on his gloves, body and elbows look like nothing and Shane as tough as he is took everything in stride.Comment

Mosley's got smallish legs and his bone mass isn't as pronounces as Alvarez's. Mosley only gives the impression that he is bigger because of definition and muscle mass.Fight night pics :
