if you had 2 extra tickets to a ATG dinner party and Oscar, Cotto, and Nelo were stuck outside without tickets....who would you give those tickets to?....Cotto and Oscar of course.....they're worthy dudes who took on damn every cat in the lion's den....I said this **** yesterday, just because Oscar and Cotto got Floyd to go up to 154, doesn't mean Nelo can....like who the **** is Nelo compared to Oscar and Cotto?....duh!!
Ward and Hopkins are looking for some $$$$$$ fights....Nelo should give them a call....and please stop being so corny and calling Floyd a 154 pound champ...he just defended a WW title...like get real!!

mayweather fans, would yall actually rather see floyd fight amir khan or devon alexander? does him staying undefeated really mean that much to you? why are yall scared of floyd taking a tough fight? this is a serious question. i don't get it. he would win this fight.

You said Floyd would have to go to 154, I said no he wouldn't because he has fought for 2 titles in the 154 pound class. As to the stipulation about Canelo not coming into the ring over a certain weight, I agree with that>>>>>Originally posted by davidkidd View PostCotto at his heaviest is 160 on fight night Floyd weighed in at 151 n on fight night weighed 147. Canelo weighs close to 180 pounds on fight night. If I were Floyd I'd make him agree to not coming over 160 for fight night or tell him to fight people his size. People were giving Chavez Jr grief for his weight in fights. Floyd has 154lb title but honestly he's not a 154lb fighter the two times he's visited that weight class he fought other former welterweights. If Canelo is so adamant than he should fight Mayweather on his terms. Mayweather allowed de la Hoya to call the shots before he dethroned him. what has Canelo done to be in position to call any shots?

Now Canelo and his team want Floyd they should respect that he is the cash cow and will call the shots. When Canelo just fought Trout, Canelo made sure that he had a rematch if he loss and it was in Texas, but Trout did not get that same agreement in his contract why? Because Canelo was the main draw!
It happens all the time Pac made Marquez and Bradley and now Rios come up to welterweight to fight him because Pac is the main draw it happens all the time. Dawson came down from 175 to 168 to face Ward because Ward is the man. If Floyd doesn't want to fight a guy who just weighed roughly 172 his last fight than he doesn't have to.
At the end of the day that is the only advantage Canelo has over Floyd is size, if that gets taking away Canelo would get beat a lot worse than what Robert did. He is a patient fighter who takes a lot of breaks and seemed to have some stamina issues his last fight.
172 is 3 pounds away from light heavyweight... He could fight Chad Dawson and not really be outweighed that much on fight night.

The guy you responded to with praise has a blind spot in his "logic". Could those "stamina issues" have something to do with cutting down to 154? I don't know.
And how would that "weight advantage" get taken away and the fight being fought on a level playing field if Canelo has to go down even further in weight and have even more stamina issues? At that point, Floyd would have a bigger advantage than Canelo would've ever had if they fought at 154. At least Floyd gets to walk in at a healthy weight if they're fighting at the 154 limit, Canelo doesn't.
Floyd fighting Canelo at 154 means that he is facing a bigger guy, YES. But that doesn't prevent Floyd from being at his best; only that he might get roughed up by a bigger guy. He has Super-Middleweight sparring partners for that. Canelo fighting Floyd at 147 on the other hand means debilitating Alvarez before he ever gets hit by Floyd.
