  • I would say the bigger issue is that Canelo is almost a LHW on fight night vs. Floyd who isn't even a real JMW. I'm not for CW's at all so I will not support that. If Canelo decided to come down, that would be up to him. Canelo's team wants the weight advantage because that is all they really have as far as their chances to win.

When did any of these guys have to drain themselves??? And apparently you didn't know that Alvarez tried to get Kirkland, Williams, and others in the ring. And this is not about whether what Floyd is asking is right or wrong, it is about HIS OWN WORDS in contradictions! And the words of his fans who said Floyd would NEVER do catchweights and used that against Pac. Shoe is on the other foot now.

            • Floyd and Canelo do have something in common though. They both have beat two people at 154. The only problem is on guy has been fighting at 154 his whole career and the other guy started at 130 and worked his way up.

                • Floyd should take the fight at 154,and just have a contract that states canelo cant come in heavier then 164 on fight nightand make the fight happen...he made marquez come upto fight him at 142,and didnt care about making weight against a lightweight,....so wuts the difference in this situation.....no excuses floyd take the risk if your the best.

No, I'm talking about common sense. Yes, in essence they're both ducking, but the other fighter clearly has the style to move up to said weight.

It's much harder for a slugger to move up in weight than a slickster with one of the longest reaches around those weights.

I'm not defending Manny, but it's not as black and white as you make it out to be.

Reach is a HUGE factor in boxing. You ever hear the term, "your arms are too short to box with God."
