Problem is, you've had guys on this site say Pac and Mayweather were the same size, but cry foul when Martinez asked to fight Pac at 154 when Pac had the 154 lb title.

All I'm saying is the dudes who advocated this position for Pac needs to shut the fcuk up because it's clearly biased.
I see what you mean. Manny vacated quite fast when Martinez and Williams came calling at 154.

        No, not quite.

Because Chad Dawson was not on Andre Ward's radar (yet at least). Ward was confined within the Super-Middleweight Division, thinking about fighters in that weight class. Now if he had called out The Light-Heavyweight Champion for a fight, but refused to move up in weight, then you may have a point.

But that's not what happened. Chad wanted the fight and they told him that this was the only way it was gonna happen. And Chad agreed. Not a real Demand, just a take-it-or-leave it sort of deal. If Ward feels that he still has unfinished business at 168 and is not yet ready to move up, and if he doesn't wanna Yo-Yo back and forth between 168 and 175, then he shouldn't have to.

        EDIT.....

Sidenote: It's sort of uncommon for someone to call out a smaller fighter from a lower weight class anyway, and demand that they move up to face him. Usually you call out a bigger fighter and are ready to take his Title.

Did you say the same thing when Canello fought Lopez, Ndou, or Gomez who were all 140 pounders when he was at 154?

Slugger with in and out movement, and relies heavily on his athleticism, because of the lack of reach going up against a slickster with power and a reach advantage.

Slickster with the longest reach at WW, and probably at JMW going up against a boxer/puncher that doesn't have half of Sergio's athleticism and movement or reach.

It's not as black and white as you make it out to be.

Canelo came in at 172 against Trout.
Floyd Sr said this just yesterday: "I don't think he would be a problem for Floyd at 154. Skills wins fights not weight. I'm not Impressed with canelo. He wouldn't be able to hit Floyd with the shots he hit trout with"

How many weight classes has Canelo moved up?

Don't act like the guy Canelo is a world beater who has fought the best.

Are you talking about it's ok for one guy to duck because of his opponents style, but not ok for the other?
