If not Canelo, Floyd should fight the Lara-Angulo winner

I think it'd be a good match in case Floyd decides that ginger is too dangerous for his health, like he'll probably do

The winner of this fight (who will be Lara most probably) would be Canelo's mandatory, and Canelo will probably avoid him in the near future in order to pursue the more lucrative fight with Cotto

so Mayweather taking on the Lara-Angulo winner would give him credibility, the fight wouldn't be a ****ty mismatch for a change at least on paper, and it could be taken as a jab at Canelo, therefore adding more hype to a future Canelo-Floyd clash

Nor to mention it'd be nice to see Mayweather, the ¨JMW super champion¨ finally defending his phony 154lb belt and fighting a real JMW for a change. Floyd would get lots of credit if he dominates Lara, a fighter who's not only bigger than Floyd but also very skilled and fast, the total opposite of Guerrero

Floyd should defend his 154 pound title or vacate it but he will do neither in my opinion. In September I think he will fight Alexander, Garcia or Khan. He would almost certainly not fight Lara. Lara is just as dangerous as Canelo and brings in much less money.

Really the only fight he should take at 154 is Canelo that is the only fight that makes sense because that fight is worth something extra so the risk of him fighting out of his weight becomes worth it. If he views Canelo as too dangerous he should just stay away from the class.


Lara/Angulo are alright fighter but do they really do anything for him that Danny Garcia or Lucas Matthysse could not provide.

Lara would be an awesome fight, and this is a "Floyd SHOULD fight" thread, but you'll still get posters that get scared and threatened and come up with excuses like the fight actually has a chance of getting made. LOL.

Lara is a runner. He will run until Angulo gets tired than hopefully he will put up a fight. Personally I would rather listen to Carl Lewis sing the National Anthem than watch Lara fight again.
