What about when Floyd called Mosley out in like 99 and shane stated that he was in search for bigger fights, then in like 2004 he called out shane and shane complained that he had a toothache? Cause the 99 Mosley was pound for pound number 1 at the time

Floyd has been in the driver seat since 2007 and could make any fight at anytime since the oscar fight. I can see him not wanting to fight margarito or cotto in 2006 when he was still angling for the oscar payday. But once he got it and became the biggest name in boxing he could have easily made fights with cotto, margarito, manny, etc

And dont tell me its arum's fault. its all about money to him. He did build floyd, oscar, pavlik, manny, chavez jr, morales, barrera, george foreman comeback, etc and none have ever accused bob of dirty deeds. Not saying he is an angel but compared to all the guys that have sued don king, arum looks legit. Floyd has no reason to be so negative towards bob. Its just that bob has had the guys that could possibly beat him and floyd uses bob as a dodge.
Arum would have given floyd more money, drug testing, etc if only floyd would ditch golden boy. But for some reason Floyd WHO IS HIS OWN BOSS?? wont leave golden boy behind and just do a one time promotion with arum for the manny fight

I used to be the biggest Floyd hater. HUGE. But over the years I've grown to appreciate his skill. Can't say that I'm a fan, but at least neutral. For me, it went from "he's too scared to fight Pac" to "it's because of Bob Arum, if they were both under Golden Boy the fight would be made in 2 seconds" and "he's cherrypicking" to "well, he's fighting who's out there, who the hell else is he supposed to fight." Anybody else converted?

His skills were never the issue and if it has taken you this long to appreciate his skills than that's just ******ed, no offense.

I've been watching Boxing too long though. I used to love to go back and ask questions like, did SRL ever fight Hagler? Did he fight Duran? What about Hearns? What about Hagler!? Did he ever fight the same guys? What happened in those fights??? etc etc

It's bad enough that Oscar never fought Forrest, Trinidad never fought Forrest, Mosely never fought Trinidad etc etc. But all those fighters made up for it by still taking other big fights.

With Mayweather its just a constant state of cherry picking at his leisure.

He never fought Cotto when Cotto was on top of his game

He never took the fight with Margarito (which is justifiable now since Marg was possibly cheating throughout his career)

No fight with Paul Williams

No fight with Manny ****ing Pacquio which was a ****ing MEGA-FIGHT ("Take the test this, Bob Arum that, I don't need Manny, Manny needs Me" etc etc)

Mayweather is easily the biggest Fraud the sport has seen, but only because he puts so much emphasis on being the greatest. Also his personality is what gives motivation to point out how ****ing fraudulent he is.

Look, if you're a coward and need a handicap in a fight to feel safe, look....SO BE IT. I'm not the one fighting, I'm not going to call you on that bull****. But if your personality is about running your mouth and gassing fans

And honestly, the sport will go back to how it was once he's gone anyways. So the sooner he retires the better. It's not like he's entertaining to watch unless he has a real opponent which he's ducked real opponents for soo long that all the remaining real fighters have fallen off.

Floyd could have dictated the terms just like how he does to golden boy. but for some reason he only works with golden boy. Probably because at the time (2007) they had all the old faded big name fighters like oscar, shane, hatton, jmm etc. And Top rank had margarito, cotto, manny all in their primes

I don't know how you can respect Floyd when you have real champions like Ali, Hagler, Hearns, Aaron Pryor etc That only want to prove they're the best and who leave the entirety of their hearts and souls in the ring.

In 99, it was just talk. He was just shooting out those names. Especially when they were in different weight divisions. Mosley was going to WW to fight Oscar. Floyd didn't become WW for another ~7 years. Again, it's all talk by Floyd and most people caught on by now.

The tooth incident happened right after a fight in 2006 not 2004. The main reason for a few months delay was that Mosley had planned a mini-vacation after fighting Vargas in July. Mosley said, let's do it right after I get back from my 1-2 months vacation. Floyd said NO I will fight Baldomir instead of waiting 1-2 months. Floyd fought in November while Mosley fought in February. Interesting since Floyd was contemplating retiring at that point. If you were Floyd, would you want to retire with Baldomir or Mosley on your record? Especially if you say that Floyd really, I mean REALLY wanted to fight Mosley.......
