I've always liked in-ring Mayweather. He just acts like such a fool outside of it. I wish I could watch his interviews but I end up just cringing and turning it off.

Exactly, no one has changed their tune about Floyd as he is the same ie not fighting regularly against the best opponents available and cherry picking flat footed fighters.
But having said that he has signed new contract where we might seem him fight regularly against nifty footed, fast heavypunchers with good gas tank.
        Then all would be forgiven.

          Absolutely... for the WORST.

I'm happy for him getting his money but being a lifelong boxing fan and watching his approach makes me wish he retires already. Everyone he fights will be no taller or faster than he (and no 154lb) so we'll see fights with dudes like Alexander, Matthyse, Marquez II, etc.

With his casual fans and hardcore fans I wouldn't be surprised to see them encourage fighting weak opposition just to get to 49-50 wins and retire undefeated.

The problem I think is that people see everything in white or everything in black. It's almost impossible to see objective people on this site.

You claim that Floyd never fights against good fighters. I mean you can't deny that as soon as Cotto left Top rank the fight was made. Floyd demanded no catchweight ( like another guy), Cotto was coming from 3 big wins that didnt go to the distance.

The guy saying Floyd waited for Mosley to get older is a joke. Floyd was begging to fight DLH and Mosley before the Gatti's fight. Mosley was having teeth "issues". Then after the fight where Mosley decapitated the cheater Margarito everybody on the site was saying Floyd would never fight Mosley, he did and now he was ducking him ?

Ortiz was coming off wins and many people thought he was a live dog.

Personally, I'm trying to stay objective and here is what I think of his last fights :

Guerrero : Cherrypick, Floyd knew Guerrero had no chance against him, disgusting fight
Cotto : I give credit to Floyd, Cotto was coming off 3 big wins and the top 154 guy, he didnt demand any catchweight
Ortiz : Good fight, Ortiz was a good prospect but a mental midget.
Mosley : Huge credit, he was #3 p4p, destroyed the hype-job Margarito and everybody claimed he would never fight him
Marquez : Cherrypick, Marquez is a legend but Floyd knew he would toy with him. Still impressive that he toyed with a master like Marquez, but... a cherrypick
Ricky Hatton: Ton of credit for this fight, this fight was huge and many people thought Hatton would beat him.

So I think that Floyd's career is a mix of good fights with cherrypicks, but like i said people see everything in white or everything in black. You can take any fighters in history and you will see a mix of cherrypicks and good fights.

That was my grain of salt, peace.

This generation has some talented fighters, but Floyd is on another planet.

floyd consistently avoids the best though. there's a big difference between fighting 38 year old mosley and fighting prime pac. mosley should be considered the cherrypick and pac the good fight. instead it's the opposite. oh wow mosley won 1 fight! lets forget how crappy he looked in the years leading up to that! pac, cotto, and margarito looked devastating for years and floyd's like yea i'm just gonna sit on the sidelines till things go back to my liking. if sugar ray leonard waited till kirkland laing beat duran then fought kirkland laing you would consider that a good fight lol.

I was a huge fan of young, humble Floyd who just destroyed guys. Then he lost me with the money mayweather act (making it rain and playing to the lowest crowd possible disappointed me) but I always respected his skill. Now as he has gotten older I've become more of a fan because I'm not ready for the guard to officially change again. Oscar is gone, Shane is gone, Tito, Winky, Jones are gone, ect and Floyd and Hopkins are all that is left from that time period. I'd like to see him win on out.

Seems like he has gotten even MORE haters these days. Some users I have never seen before pop into all his threads to hate.
