Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Says The Ball is in Martin Murray's Court

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wants to be tested and that's why he asked Top Rank to secure Martin Murray for August 3 at new Arena in Mexico City. Chávez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) views Murray (25-1-1, 11 KOs) as the perfect opponent, especially after his near upset performance over World Boxing Council middleweight king Sergio Martinez on April 27th in Argentina. HBO would televise the fight.

Of course he'll travel if the money is right. What else is Murray going to do? Wait for Chavez or Quillin to come to St Helens? He can't fight in America so a title fight in Mexico City is as good as it gets for him unless another British fighter captures a title at some point. And even if that happens he'll still be in the running for a shot at that guy, no matter what happens against Jr.

          Murray will win that fight.

There's a very good chance he get's robbed, but he will win in the ring.

            murray should refuse

he just went overseas and got robbed

he won a fight by around 3-4 points but was taken out by politics

best to have a break and fight in the uk imo

              exactly

I see him dominating and beating up chavez like he did to martinez but we all know already he stands no chances with these corrupt paid off judges

Murray's a tank but Chavez Jr is a fuckin' monster at that weight. When they fight fire with fire, Chavez Jr's flame will burn brighter.

Plus, in Mexico City Chavez can be doped off his head and no one's going to say a word about it.
