When the trainer does that what effect does it have?
From what i been told and understand, it makes a fighter not have much follow-through in his punches, it may look awesome to look at it, but since the trainer is doing half the work the fighter isnt gaining much sharpness himself. Kinda like if u only hit the bag up close, ull forget what ur range is.
I sort of noticed that in Pacquiao and Morales 1. In the first round pacquiao mimicked the mitt work on Morales' head but he didnt really follow through or extend his arms enough, it looked like the training video before their first fight where he hit the mitts.

Excellent explanation. I saw the same thing in the first fight as well. I believe that if Pacquiao can follow through with the punches in the first 4 rounds, then Morales will go down. If Morales can avoid the shots from Pacquiao, then I see it going the distance. If there is a knockout, it will be by either fighter within 6 rounds, otherwise its going to the cards.
