Comments Thread For: Ceja Camp Files Protest Over Officials For McDonnell Fight

Julio Ceja had no problem conceding hometown advantage to Jamie McDonnell, so long as their fight this Saturday in Doncaster, England would take place on an otherwise level playing field.

There is now concern for that not being the case.

The promise of neutrality is being questioned by the Ceja camp after the IBF – whose vacant bantamweight title is at stake in the bout – released the names of the officials for this weekend’s contest. [Click Here To Read More]

I'm hoping McDonnell win but I have to agree - the Ref shouldn't be from his hometown of Doncaster.

Couldn't they get anyone from Wakefield or S****horpe?

Why is this fight on Primetime? How can they expect people to pay for this in the UK, bad move if you ask me.

I've sen Cej 4x live, very impressive w/great power, average defense...I'd guess he & his management conceeded greatly, $$$. 2 get this bout as he was nnot ranked by IBF, but was #1 by WBC, who would have given him neutral officials but he did not want a skot @ the WBC champ from all I read....after the what he's paying up front + the ridiculous English tax system, he probably will get the belt , but go home broke...it's his choice completely...

Yep , they will suffer bad considering Ricky Burns is fighting on sky for free at the same time , they should have put it on boxnation and got lots of free promotion from Steve Bunce and Frank Warren and got the ball rolling. The primetime promotion has been terrible and only hardcore Jamie Mcdonnell fans know what is going down.

Fair play to Ceja coming over here and I think he'll have made the right decision when he leaves this country with the belt. This has made me even more confident that he's going to take McDonnell out.
