In order to satisfy his legacy for himself (not you), he wants to win a title in another division and Bradley gives him that opportunity.

If that's what Marquez wants, he's earned the right to do it because he's a legend who has been in the game for 2 decades

IMO this is the dumbest thing Marquez could have possibly done. Bradley is mobile enough and durable enough to easily win a decision. That is; if Bradley isn't already in rapid-instant decline after the walloping he took in his last match.

            the dude belongs to 147
he was just fighting smaller guys throughout his carrier
if pac stayed at 135 throughout his carried what would haters say?

floyd went to 154 to fight oscar
pac went to 150 to fight margarito

why the exemption on the so called mexican legend?

That seems to be what he's thinking. He may be in for a big letdown, agreed.

Floyd and Manny already had welterweight titles. Marquez has never won one. He wants to win one and that's why he wants this fight.

I think Marquez knows what he is doing. I pick him over Bradley. Bradley can box but he has absolutely no pop and if Manny can't stop Marquez after 5 knock downs in 4 fights then I don't think Bradley will. You need a hammer to stop Marquez from fighting. Bradley has youth but on the big stage after witnessing what happened with Manny I just feel like Marquez been there before and when he is focused he has proved to be deadly. I don't see Bradley beating him but anything is possible.

Funny how people on here are saying that Marquez made a bad decision because he may lose but isn't that what being a professional fighter is about? Taking the biggest and riskier chances? Dude want a 5th title then go for it. Manny needs time to get a confidence builder. It would be a disaster to send Manny back in the ring with the same guy who hit him with the same hammer in the last fight. Marquez has Manny's #. Manny is too late in the game to change his fighting style. He can't beat Marquez. We see who adjusted and got better between the two over the years.
