If Manny could beat Marquez convincingly then he would have already. Fact of the matter is that Manny thought Marquez was easy pickings after the way he look against Floyd at WW. Remember "Not even God can save Marquez".

"We underestimated Marquez,"
"I've been fighting at 150, 147 and then this guy [who is] 140-pounds, 135, is moving up. I've been fighting with bigger guys and then I fight a guy who is the same size, so I kind of understimated [him]." Manny Pacquiao.

If Manny felt like he beat Marquez then he would have not been feeling like he lost.

I'll be the first to say Marquez is hands down my favorite boxer but I do have a few thoughts on the matter. First off, I think he earned just as much a right as anyone to fight who he wants right now. This doesn't mean he won't fight Pacquiao again and if Pacquiao was able to fight other guys in between fights as opposed to giving Marquez immediate rematches, then I say the same courtesy go to Marquez. I personally don't think he should fight him again as he earned the definitive victory and to me the series is closed. With that said, I've never been thrilled with the way he handled his losses to Pacquiao in the past and wish he'd take a page out of Miguel Cotto's book, a guy who doesn't make excuses for his losses. Marquez should continue to cement his legacy and I like that it's more about honor than money and I wish others in the sport followed this mindset. To those who want to say that one of the sports best, if not the best, counter-punchers caught Pacquiao with a lucky shot, all I can do is shake my head. That has always been his reputation so why is it all of a sudden shocking that he was able to do it to a guy he's studied for years? Everyone is talking about how Pacquiao was coming on and dominating....so what? How many times have we seen the same scenario play out (Bailey vs. Jones, Spinks vs. Judah, Chavez vs. Taylor, etc). I personally thought Pacquiao one all three fights prior to the fourth, but come on people, stop saying this nonsense about PEDs. Skill and hard work won that fight, just like Pacquiao's skill and hard earned him his place in history.

The first 2 fights really could have gone either way, but Marquez won the 3rd and blacked him out in the 4th and he doesn't need to prove anything. If they never fight again history will say he won the series even with less victories on paper. If Pac wants the fight bad enough he'll make the money good enough that Marquez won't turn it down, but if I'm Marquez I don't take that fight for a penny less than a 50-50 split.

It's quite simple, the outcomes of the first 3 fights have been debated for years and genuinely merited rematches. There can be no debate about a knock out, and that closed the door on the rivalry.

If Manny wants to chase a rematch, it should be one with Timothy Bradley.

His legacy in boxing was cemented with that KO after years of not quite being considered the great that Pacquiao was once considered. That right hand counter was not a lucky punch. Marquez was getting touched up pretty badly and he saw an opening an overzealous Pacquiao gave him by trying finish a round strong in the last 10 seconds. That's what happened. Plain and simple. Idiots on both sides need to stop ****ting on each guy. These two are elite HOF fighters and that's what can happen when boxers like that go toe to toe.

If Marquez doesn't land that punch maybe he gets stopped. If Pacquiao doesn't get hit with that punch at that time, then maybe he gets hit with it later. That's why there's so much interest in a fifth fight. If he loses in a fifth fight, he loses everything he gained in the fourth fight. If Pacquiao loses to Rios then Marquez is the one who gets to take credit for truly ending his career.

People can question his courage all they want to, but at the end of the day Marquez has proven his worth in the ring. Anyone who questions either of these guy's balls is a moron and not truly a fan of boxing. Fan boy bull**** is for comic geeks. Put your ass in the ring and do what any of these men do or train the way they have to train to fight. Make the sacrifices they make.

You can't do it.

That's why you're throwing mud at them from afar. Boxing is a ****ty, crooked business and they all deserve credit for leveraging what they can. Only a handful make it this far.
He does have something to gain, twice his career best purse. You seem to be making the case that the risk it too high, and he's earned the right to pass on it. But remember most fighter make those sacrifices for money mostly, and very very few will pass on 2x career best vs someone they got all figured out.

That is me saying JMM is miles above Bradley in every aspect, besides I'm sure 99% of Mexicans will consider JMM as a ATG right now anyway.
Disagree on that. Bradley would be by far the second best scalp for JMM, even considering he just had something taken out of him

I agree. Manny should opt a rematch with Bradley, after Bradley gets the W against Marquez. Marquez should seal his legacy and career with a loss to Bradley.

Would Hasim be considered better than Lennox if he decided against the rematch? C'mon, should be pretty clear why Juan doesn't want a rematch! He was getting beat! In no way does his "win" mean anything concerning their previous fights! "Winning" on a single punch is BS! Let him live with the truth in his mind haunting him. If he's ok with the truth, that's another thing. 4 close fights is enough...

Juan vs Timothy could be an interesting fight, as could Manny vs Rios.
