mares would be an easy fight for donaire but certainly not rigo...
That's what a lot of people thought, including myself. Yet Rigo made it a point to engage Donaire early in their fight, in order to gain immediate respect. He caught a couple of shots, took them and returned fire with greater force. It was just smarter, and in Guillermo's style, to box and avoid further unnecessary exchanges with a known puncher.

Whoever said Mares is an easy fight for Doniare is nuts. It's the fight he wouldnt want to take. **** we we're lucky he took Rigondeaux. Doniare can get back to fighting 30+ has beens and get his confidence back up.

Its funny watching the usual floboner suspects ragging on this guy because he is a pinoy. We all know why they do it and that just makes it even funnier. On the topic though, maybe he will do well at featherweight. If he does stick at 122 he is going to have to try and reverse against Rigo or go for Mares. Both very tough opponents and Rigo may well move up to126.

Rigo has no plans to move up. He's really better suited to 118. Featherweight is probably too big for Guillermo. Who knows, though, maybe someday the pursuit of money will force "El Chacal" north.

Donaire fought the 1st fight all wrong. He does much better in a rematch. He head hunted with single shots and that played right into Rigo's skillset.

The only time Donaire threw a combination, he landed the 2nd and 3rd shots. You'd see him wake up and be much busier in a rematch and force Rigo to take more risks by not giving away the rounds to him.

Donaire hasn't recovered from the ass kicking Rigo handed to him . The Boy is confused. He doesn't want to stay at 122 because Rigo is there, but he's nervous about jumping into that pool of 126 LB sharks.

Doing all that he would still lose. Rigo can adjust something nonoto cannot do. Rigo is just better than him.

zzzz...this guy was one of my favorite and i did pick him to win the fight...but he is starting to bore me...should rematch Rigo if he stays at 122 or completely admit that he will dodge/avoid rigo...better yet, just go 126 and if Rigo does come up face him again there...but all this excuses is weight problems is his fault..taking the fight to lightly...or draining your self too much..i understand you were 129 lbs in the days before the fight but thats his issue for bloating too much in betweem fights.
