This is an excellent matchup, it's a 50-50 fight.

I'm not sure who would win: Mayfield is slick enough to go the distance and win by decision, while Ruslan is relentless enough to eventually catch and stop him.

I think it would be too early to put Mayfield in with Ruslan right now. He seems good enough to win but with only 17 fights it would be rushing him.
