  • Comments Thread For: Only 348 Tickets Sold to Don King’s 4/12 Card in Vegas

An April 12 card put on in Las Vegas by Don King Productions sold just 348 tickets and actually had more than that (413 tickets) given away for free, according to figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The five-fight card — held at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, and with two of those bouts aired on Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” — pulled in a total gate of $34,800. That is an average of $100 per ticket sold, which makes sense, given that all of the tickets for the event were $100 each.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Santana doesn't have a fan base and Baha is a unknown Uzbeki that took the fight on a weeks notice.

How much might a Treasure Island site fee be, Terry?

                  And how've you been?

My guess would be somewhere between 30k and 50k for a ShoBox date. Treasure Island was basically buying themselves a 2 hour commercial for their casino on Showtime, and probably didnt care whether they sold the tickets or comped them. As long as they got enough "live from Treasure Island" mentions, and a logo on the light grid, they were happy lol

I've been good. Staying busy. How bout yourself?
