  • Kessler vs Joppy

According to teampalle Kessler will maybe fight William Joppy in Us later this year and possibly on America television,a great opportunity to show Kessler for US-boxingfan

I guess like in the fight with Jermain Taylor Joppy is playing the role of the doormat that makes the other guy look good in front of a national audience. Should be good exposure for Kessler, though.

I suppose its a good way to introduce Kessler to the US. Joppy is a "name", albeit one who is far past his "prime".

            Great.

We will learn so much about Kessler, by watching him trounce a very trounce-able MIDDLEWEIGHT.

How can this super-middle improve upon what a 154lber (Trinidad) did to Joppy.....5 years later ?
            He can't. Worthless.

Worthless, you say? Sounds like HBO After Dark material to me, then.

Basically we won't get any new information on Kessler from this fight...only a chance to see him beat up on a smaller, semi-shot fighter.

I'd like to see a Green/Kessler matchup. Simply on the reputations and style's alone that sounds like it'd be an entertaining fight.

I don't want to see Joppy ever again. Much for the same reason I don't want to see Witter. The last time I saw both fighters they were happy to survive and openly ran the whole fight.

Anytime you fight just to survive and don't care about winning, I don't want to see you. Joppy did this against Taylor and Witter against Judah.

In their small minds, they had "moral" victories for surviving 12 rounds.

PS: OG, Joppy is FULLY shot, not semi-shot.

The difference being that Witter has come back from his defeat and made himself into a better fighter. One poor fight several years ago shouldn't really prejudice you against him.

Joppy is a shot fighter though.
