your being waaaay too critical, enjoy the movie for what it was. Ya not oscar worthy but it was fun. Boondocks was off the hook...."now make like a tree and **** off!"

First, I was discussing this with moy not you.

Second, I am not being critical of this movie, people try to make this movie seem like the it's the greatest film ever made and it's not. This is prolly not even in the best 20 movies ever made.

The acting was horrible, in acception to the guy who played Tony Montana's best friend, and it was Pacino's worst performance ever. The majority of the people who like this movie are these gangster rappers who's dreams are too be millionair drug dealers like Tony and the kids who see 50cent wearing a scarface shirt and decide the movie is great b/c 50cent likes it. I will take quotes and one liners from movies like Pulp Fiction, The Boondock Saints, and basically any Quentin Tarintino film against any scarface quote and one liner. That's just my opinion.

Scarface is definitely overrated by some. it could have definitely been better. Oliver Stone wrote it I think. Talk about an overrated douche bag. He took Tarantino's Natural Born Killers and turned it into a very mediocre film. That movie would've been 100 times better if Tarantino had actually gotten to direct his own damn movie. I'll give Stone props for his casting, he usually casts the right people for movies, but his directing leaves a lot to be desired.

Stone didn't direct Scarface, I think it was De Palma. Nobody cast in the movie is at fault for the movie not being that great. I blame the writing more than anything. I like the movie, even count it as one of my favorite movies, but that doesn't mean I think it is one of the best movies. American Beauty is one of the best movies of the last 10 years, but I really don't like it that much.
