    Marquez Aims For Vazquez

The management of jilted WBA and IBF Featherweight Champion Juan Manuel Marquez is negotiating to clinch a fight with IBF Super Bantamweight, and fellow Mexican Israel Vazquez.

This development comes after Marquez’s fight with Filipino sensation Manny Pacquiao, scheduled for February 26th, bit the dust due to an insoluble dispute involving the purse. Marquez’s Manager Ignacio Beristain insisted that as a double world champion, Juan must get the lions share of the purse. Pacquiao had been guaranteed 900,000 dollars, by his Promoter Murad Muhammad, but Marquez was offered 750,000 by Top Rank. [details]

Tsk-tsk...JMM now has no choice but to pick from the 'supporting' cast.

He can get anyone of the alphabet titlists (Vasquez, Chi, Harrison, even Larios) but he can never get anywhere near the 750K that he snobbed!

The only big-timer left is MAB but, as was before, Baby Face is not too anxious to get in the ring with him. Not at this time anyway.

And I read even the Vasquez bout is not in the can yet!

      Tsk-tsk...

what is the right purse for him then? maybe he wants a leather purse! haha!!! he should now think of venturing into a food chain business, say, MARQUEZ's FRIED CHICKEN! he can comnpete with KFC and Kenny Roger's, maybe then he can be satisfied with the "purse"... haha!

Look for "another" opponent?? Try 3k Battery! At least he should be more exciting than Salido. They don't have to say how much the purse would be. To minimize the embarrrassment...
