Comments Thread For: Guerrero: First Thing Mayweather Asked For is a Rematch

MGM Grand, Las Vegas – Mandatory challenger Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18KOs) has lashed out at Floyd Mayweather’s claim that he barely knew who he was before their fight was finalized for this Saturday night. Guerrero claims Mayweather (43-0, 26Kos), from the start of their negotiations, demanded an immediate rematch clause. Guerrero believes Mayweather is taking him more seriously than some of his other opponents from the past.

Isn't that one of the first things you negotiate?

Either way, I have a feeling that this fight will be a lot different than people expect.

Ummm Guerrerro, so what if he asked for a rematch clause, MOST prize fighters do ask for one, you are not out the ordinary like you are some killer...Floyd had a rematch clause with Ortiz, Mosley, and Cotto....didnt Canelo just have a rematch clause with Trout....

Guerrerro is starting to get on my nerves with all his shiiiit talking, I think he is overplaying his hand with that Berto victory, come May 4th he will see that Floyd aint no Berto....

Standard procedure, Robert. Don't get too excited yet.

I'm sure Mayweather always has a rematch clause.

No? Where was Austin Trout's rematch clause?

Anyway, this doesn't show Mayweather is scared imo, merely that he is one of the most cautious fighters in the sport. The guy would ask for a rematch clause v Matthew Hatton.
