I'm not so sure. I think Floyd will be fighting Khan no matter what Khan does in the next 18 months. Khan lives a very charmed life in the boxing world. He trains with the best, ODH and Richard S. love him, and he gets to fight the winner of Garcia vs. Peterson/Matthysse even though two out of three of those dudes have already beat him.
