BIG TV RATINGS: Fury vs SS second most watched for week on C5 UK

Fury vs SS received 1.54 million viewers on channel 5 in the UK on average and came second for the week. This outright contradicts so called twitter reporters who claimed Fury vs SS did 1.1 million and peeked at 1.4 million. BARB is the most official source for TV ratings in the UK:

boxing has managed 700k to 1mill for eubank cards, 1.2 mill for Degale and 1 mill for other cards. Tyson is a draw no doubt but you can see that it's boxing itself that's drawing not just Fury. C5 has no legit reason for wanting out of boxing the way they are, that is even if the rumours are true.

That's interesting. Maybe the costs are also high?

The production looks really low budget and it's hard to see them paying guys like Fury and Eubank that much. Even if Fury was getting 500k per fight most of that would come from other parties involved. I'd bet C5's reasoning is the same as the BBC and ITV, that is they're worried about the boxers simply going abroad and fighting on other networks when they spent all that time promoting him.

The build-up would be better than the fight imo, which wouldn't last very long

Outside the Hearn stable on Sky, Fury is promoting himself well pulling in a a large mainstream audience. De Gale needs to be more active.

fury is doing what so many others should do, he is staying away from the pay channels and simply getting his face and name out there in the mainstream. Fury v Haye would be a huge fight
