I felt it was pointless as well at first. Now I'm curious to see how Broner will handle the a bigger man with movement and a more technical boxing ability.
Broner/malignaggi Waste of time?

I got Paulie winning the fight IF he shows the speed and footwork that won him the title. It won't be a KO, most likely a UD but getting stopped on a cut isn't out of the question.
Obviously Broner has a great shot to beat Paulie though, I just believe the step up in weight and Paulie's boxing fundamentals will be just a little too much to deal with at this stage of Broner's career.Comment

I think this is an underrated fight. Paulie may not be a top 10 P4P but he's a solid fighter with good skills, good speed and terrific heart. A veteran who could certainly test the young Broner. The weight difference should be interesting too, Broner fought one of the smallest Lightweights in his last fight and Paulie is natural welterweight.Comment

This Thread/ Waste of time! :ANYWORD:Anyone else think Broner/malignaggi is a waster of time? I like Paulie but I dont want to see him fight. I would love to see Broner fight someone that actually has a chance to beat him. Paulie is a pretty good boxer but he has 0 chance of hurting Broner. I was disappointed when I heard this fight was made.Comment

Paulie had a tough fight with Cano, and it was a pretty close fight but that doesn't mean he's done for...come on. This is a better fight than Burns at 135. All the 140 guys were already committed for a fight, so who else? Vazquez is with Zangief or whatever that promoter's name is and they don't work with Golden Boy. So who else? Broner has shown his skills vs clearly inferior fighter. This could potentially be a walk in the park for Broner, but it could definitely become really hard for him. He's fighting someone that's naturally 147, and someone that can actually move. If Broner wins, it will be because he's showing us a new set of skills. How is this not something to look forward to? This is a good test for Broner. And you better believe that if he does win, he will go to 140 and fight one of the top guys there.Comment

Do I want to see this fight? Hell No. But I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a waste of time either. Paulie is entertaining on the mic, and Broner is entertaining in the ring. Paulie is gonna talk a terrific game that Broner won't be able to keep up with, but he'll get the better of Paulie inside the ring.Comment

this fight is as much a waste of time as manny/odh, guerrero/aydin or any other fight where a LW moves up to ww.Comment
