He would of needed to stop Martinez to get the win. Murray was like a bull in there. I would take him to beat both Barker & Macklin. You wouldn't see many fighters go into the backyard of the P4P No3 in front of 40,000 red hot fans (We have all see the crowds at the football matches) and give a performance with no fear whatsoever. He should be real proud of himself because the fight could of been his if it wasn't for the 10th round knockdown being ruled a slip and Martinez doing brilliantly in the last two rounds. I gave it to Murray, as heavily as I rooted for Martinez I couldn't give it to him. I disagree with Hatton though, it's a fight that could have gone either way. I personally did not give Martinez the first 4 rounds, that I remember, had Murray winning by a point, that's excluding the second knock down that wasn't counted. Martinez, especially the one who fought Chavez Jr would have destroyed Murray, a basic fighter really. I say it's time Martinez cashes out, Cotto then Canelo next, or rematch Murray.

Close fight, although I lean to think Murray did enough to win. Shouldn't be surprised though that the star got the decision in his homecoming bout.

In all honesty, Murray deserved the 2nd knockdown. I think at the very least it should have been ruled a draw. Martinez put on a disappointing performance. His broken power hand is the reason to blame for that. That being said, that was a gutsy showing by a one-handed Maravilla. Murray couldn't beat a healthy Sergio.

He should tell his fighter that he needed to win the last two rounds after not doing anything the first five. He definitely did a great job in the fight, but he put himself behind waiting to start fighting until the 6th round. Martinez looked bad. I don't think it had anything to do with age, he just seemed flat.
