Ward fought only once last year and it was against a severely weight drained Dawson; magically moves from #4 to #1 P4P, no one complains. He also hasn't fought this year as of yet and is planning to fight only once.

Besides, nothing's confirmed and Sergio always has the last word, he might slip in a fight Nov/Dec if he heals completely before then. I suspect this may have something to do with him re-injuring his knee while training for the Murray fight--meaning maybe he shouldn't be fighting as it is.

I hope that didn't happen. If that's the case, he shouldn't be fighting the first place. True warrior.

I doubt it since the top three are Golovkin, Geale and Quillin. Peter is stuck on Showtime, Golovkin HBO and Geale is doing his own thing in Australia or whatever. Chavez doesn't return till Sept so after that he's done for the year.

True, the reasoning is different (and understandable), but the outcome is the same. I'm glad that now Chavez will stop name-dropping him like he even deserves a rematch to begin with. As long as there's an indisputable #2 by the beginning of next year, then it's all good.
