Comments Thread For: Khan Plots Revenge on Lamont Peterson, Danny Garcia

Two defeats in his last three fights have not dissuaded Amir Khan from thinking big.

Victory against Julio Diaz on Saturday night would give him the opportunity to become undisputed light-welterweight champion later this year, Khan said in London on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Briton must first win the catchweight non-title bout against Diaz at the Motorpoint Arena in his home city of Sheffield in his first fight back in Britain for two years.

Victory over Diaz, a former lightweight champion, will keep Khan on course for a possible rematch with either Lamont Peterson or Danny Garcia. Defeat to the 33-year-old Diaz will finish Khan's career at the elite level.

Khan, who is due to get married in New York next month, is desperate to avenge both defeats.

He lost on points to Peterson in December 2011. The American later tested positive for a banned substance. Garcia stopped Khan in four rounds last July.

IBF champion Peterson and Garcia, who holds the WBC and WBA titles, have defences to make before Khan can start plotting revenge.

Good luck fighting a weight drained Diaz, that should be easy money.

As for fighting Garcia, it would have been interesting if Khan had fought Matthysse, Garcia and Peterson then claim to be undisputed champion which I doubt would happen. I don't see any version of Khan beating Peterson or Garcia even though Khan's improved.

Khan already beat Cheaterson in the opinion of anyone with eyes not from DC. He should focus on not getting caught by a lucky shot from Garcia. He was dominating that fight too. I really can't stand Khan, but I'm just being honest.

Pretty Boy Khan Best Worry About Diaz; Lose This Fight & Your Career Is Over

He'll be fighting Mags on ESPN if he loses this fight.... don't be worrying about Peterson and Garcia.... they aren't even giving you a second thought.

He can beat Peterson. He didnt fight a good fight v him. Garcia will be tougher - Khan's chin isnt going to suddenly become great. That is a bigger issue.

Khan already beat Peterson, but the ref took that W from him (points taken for pushing)? He was beating Garcia, but got caught. His chances of beating both are very good IMO.

I see that Golden Boy paid off the WBC with a bunch of Hookers and coke to get Khan a #2 ranking at welterweight. Nothing new but still makes me laugh when I read about the corrupt WBC and their paper titles.
