Taylor, up until the Hopkins fights, was in exciting fights. Hopkins chose to run for half the fight and was too slick to get caught with big shots. Just a bad style matchup.

Taylor-Winky is not quite so bad. Winky is right there to be hit and relies on blocking punches with his gloves rather than running like Hopkins. But it will likely still be a boring UD or MD kind of fight. Taylor should next take one easier fight and bring the excitement back to the division. Hard core fight fans will still buy Taylor-Wright PPV, but the casual fan thinks of Taylor-Hopkins and Wright-Soliman and keeps the wallet tightly closed.

There is no consistency with the WBC. Hopkins fought a string of nobodies over many years, and now they order Taylor to fight Wright next, coming off two fights with Hopkins? Something not right there. Both Taylor and Wright should each take one fight against a lesser opponent in early summer and look terrific against them, to maximize the PPV revenue when they meet at the end of 2006.

I guess Wright already took his easy fight against Soliman, but that did nothing to build up his PPV draw, may have actually hurt! Back to the drawing board.

There are many different types of "fights". And looking at statistics between rounds has nothing to do with watching a fight.

I just want to make sure that it's alright with you if people have different opinions on what they think is an "interesting" fight? Just because you crave a knockout, it shouldn't de-value any fighter or make a fighter necessarily "boring" to everyone. It's simply difference of opinion, which is fine, just don't take away anything from a fighter because his or her style doesn't suit your taste.

Winky sounds like a fool to me. He's pricing himself out against Taylor, the undisputed middleweight champion who came off two wins over Hopkins. No way is Winky the draw, lol. Taylor's still green and he's ALREADY headlined more PPVs than Winky.

Wright'll be the WBC champ, and he can go pick up the IBF. Then he'll have half the titles and look like the man. Taylor'll look like a scared *****, and rightfully so.

Taylor is crazy if he thinks he's a draw. Neither of these guys draw **** alone. Even together right now they're not going to be a huge draw. It's not really a PPV. Maybe an ESPN PPV for $30. Neither of these guys are going to sell **** at $50 though.

Hopkins was clearly the biggest middleweight draw (barring DLH of course), but even he wasn't going to draw huge numbers alone. And since so many feel like Taylor didn't clearly win either fight, Taylor has never really been undisputed in anybody's eyes. Taylor needs to fight and beat Wright for people to accept him more as the middleweight champ.

There's nobody else at middleweight. Eastman? Sam Soliman? Arthur Abraham? ****, nobody cares about any of those guys. Taylor's only option would be to fight the winner of Lacy/Calzaghe, which I really don't see happening.

And yeah I definitely think Taylor is significantly more powerful than Wright, but umm...it doesn't really matter that much. Wright's defense is a lot better than Taylor's and it would neutralize that power difference. Taylor could maybe get the win over Wright, but if he did, it'd be another controversial split decision probably. What is Taylor to do?
Dude it’s not Di bella and Taylor who’s bluffing. Remember who is pushing for this fight since the start. Shaw even went straight to WBC to pressure Taylor to give in to the mandatory fight. Now that the negotiation is on they wanted to make demands. Clearly Shaw is trying to muscle his way into dictating the terms of the fight which is foolish because they have nothing to bring into the table.

Let’s just put our arguments into a logical path. Clearly Shaw is twisting the arms of Di bella citing that Taylor doesn’t deserve more than 50 percent because his win against Bhops doesn’t mean a thing. What kind of crap is that? Very lame. No matter how disputable those wins were, officially Taylor got the titles, And despite Winky’s big win against named opponents, what has he got? How can you say that Dibella and Taylor is bluffing when they already offered a 60/40 and 55/45 split up? Taylor said “we will have a fight” as lonbg as it’s not 50/50 and I don’t think that it’s a bluff.

As to these two being a draw. Taylor is not a big draw yet but he is a bigger draw than Winky. That couldn’t be denied.

This is gonna be a very exciting fight and a 50/50 chance for both if it happens, but if it doesn’t? Taylor can keep his head high, he is still very young after all while Winky is a lot older and is on the way out of the sports. He will retire wth nothing.

This is a bad fight for Wright. Wright has been often outworked in his career. Wright is great vs fighters like tito. However fighters like Taylor that are long and have a good jab Wright has a tough time with. Mosley was too small and just couldnt reach Wright, Tito just wasnt good enough, he (Tito) cant do alot of things in the ring. Taylor can, even though Taylor is still alittle rough around the edges, I think that he can outwork Wright to win a dec. Just about the same way that Simon did, who isnt as good as Taylor.
