On second thought, maybe Taylor should get the lions' share but the fight with Hopkins was far from impressive. For me and a lot of others, Hopkins won those fights.

Taylor still has a heap load to prove.

Wright should call Taylor's (& DiBella's) bluff and agree to fight him for less. He should stick firm to no less than 40%. If Taylor and DiBella hesitate for a minute, Wright should tell them to go **** themselves and just wait for the purse bid. If Taylor gives up the title, he'll look like a *****. Wright'll be the WBC champ, and he can go pick up the IBF. Then he'll have half the titles and look like the man. Taylor'll look like a scared *****, and rightfully so.

Taylor is crazy if he thinks he's a draw. Neither of these guys draw **** alone. Even together right now they're not going to be a huge draw. It's not really a PPV. Maybe an ESPN PPV for $30. Neither of these guys are going to sell **** at $50 though.

Hopkins was clearly the biggest middleweight draw (barring DLH of course), but even he wasn't going to draw huge numbers alone. And since so many feel like Taylor didn't clearly win either fight, Taylor has never really been undisputed in anybody's eyes. Taylor needs to fight and beat Wright for people to accept him more as the middleweight champ.

There's nobody else at middleweight. Eastman? Sam Soliman? Arthur Abraham? ****, nobody cares about any of those guys. Taylor's only option would be to fight the winner of Lacy/Calzaghe, which I really don't see happening.

And yeah I definitely think Taylor is significantly more powerful than Wright, but umm...it doesn't really matter that much. Wright's defense is a lot better than Taylor's and it would neutralize that power difference. Taylor could maybe get the win over Wright, but if he did, it'd be another controversial split decision probably. What is Taylor to do?

IMO Taylor will beat Wright. Wright doesn't throw enough punches to beat Jermain. Jermain is a better boxer than trinidad or the last guy wright fought and wont be able to beat him with 1 punch. I would love to see wright get exposed with that boring style he has. Jermains coming off bigger wins and deserves to make the most money if this fight happens.

I would love to see Wright's defensive/jabbing boxing skills overcome Taylors random boxing style.

He's getting a little overconfident i think... then again, have a parrot like DiBella on your shoulder who's been talking in your ear long enough and you're bound to believe/say anything.

**** this constant gayness about boring styles for slick defensive fighters. what is so boring about skill? seriously. go watch another sport that doesn't bore you so much.

It isn't like Wright has been just backing up either. Wright was coming forward almost the entire fight against Soliman. He was walking forward, blocking mostly everything, and countering Soliman. What is boring about that? Those punches not telegraphed enough for you?

You bring up a very good point here, as much as Wright is not a major draw, he's still a much bigger draw in comparison to a Howard Eastman or an Arthur Abraham.

btw, thank you for this, glad to see it's getting old to someone else too:

I have an appreciation for slick boxers but, if I'm going to pay $50 for a fight I want to see a fight. Maywhether for example is the slickest fighter out right now and if when he has another PPV fight I will not have a problem paying for one his fights because he would atleast make it some what exciting to watch. He gets the KO unlike wright who only wants the "W". Wrights too tactical and needs to let those hands go every once in a while if he wants to become a PPV fighter that generates a lot of buys. He should've KO the last guy he fought. He had no business going the full 12 rounds with that fool.

*shakes his head, followed by a long ass sigh*

Yes, generally a fighter that 'takes risks' or is 'slick' is more appealing to the average fight fan, but give me a break, these aren't street fights, their boxing contests and an imporant part of boxing is being technically sound, which Taylor has yet to really show.

Like i've suggested to others, it you have that big a problem with talent and must see KOs, i'd suggest checking out an UFC or Pride fighting event, where a kayo is more frequent.

Lol, and i don't think i've ever heard anyone trying to make someone wanting a win in a fight sound negative before. But you're right, Winky goes into the fight saying to himself... "How can i just get through this fight with a W."

Give the people what they want and that is a fight. People use their hard earn money to see an interesting fight not watch compubox numbers. In my last post I did not say that I want a KO in every boxing match, all I ask for like many others do is to see an interesting fight.
