"No" is the answer to your inquiry.

but there is also no evidence suggesting it is untrue?

IF this was the case why would, HBO throw their cash cow under the bus like that.

If he choose too it they would have said so but they didnt.

They didn't know, they were told his hands were getting re-wrapped not why. If it's not true how can there be evidence it isn't? LOL

it what they said on the broadcast, the reasoning being it was due to "not enough padding"

only thing being argued here is who deemed it too less padding?

HBO were under the impression the commission said it.

but bottom line was, he hands was wrapped and gloved with "not enough padding" and was forced to be re-wrapped

Naseem was a born Puncher man.

That guy had freakish power, and they would always make comments on his tree trunk legs, cause he would leave the ground a lot of the times and still have power to knock guys down or out while not even being planted.

He also had some wide wrists, basically he was a short stocky guy with heavy bones.

His problem in his later career is he would balloon in weight and party hard, cutting his career short.

The funny thing is HBO was grooming Manny Pacquiao as a comeback fight for Prince Naseem Hamed but Naz never came back to fight after the Calvo fight and retired young.
