I dont see why this is a bad thing at all.Looking forward to it really.Bad for floyds career how?
Because if he loses to Witter (who not that many are familiar with), it'll look extremely bad. "Floyd was all hype, blah, blah, blah, etc"
If he wins with ease, people will think Witter's nothing but a bum.
Lose/lose to a certain extent.
IMO Witter is a dangerous fight for Floyd. He has an awkward style and he can ****. That said, i still expect Floyd to prevail. But i'll be interested to see the fight.
ive never seen him fight, but i hear a lot of brits talkin like witter could take on hatton. ive heard nothin but good things about this guy, and since hatton and cotto dont look like theyre gonna take on floyd this year, he might as well take witter.
PBF is fighting a mandatory challenger so I can't see why some are saying it's not good for him. Maybe it's not gonna be that rewarding in terms of cash but at least PBF is not gonna be accused of ducking legitimate mandatory challengers.
There is really no point to mayweather taking this fight. Beating Witter would accomplish little and I doubt hatton or cotto will be at 140 much longer anyway. Given that assumption, the only attractive options at 140 would be corrales (we've seen that) and Castillo (which we've seen twice). I just don't think the 140 WBC belt has much value for someone with Mayweather's rep unless he wants to make the Hatton fight at 140.
styles make fights.......and witter does well against better opposition.......he'd do better against hatton then against mayweather......mayweather wins by late tko or ud.
I've got a feeling that Mayweather is gonna run from Hatton a little longer to forestall the beating he's due. He's gonna vacate that jr welter title and fight for one of the welter titles vacated by Judah's miserable performance a week ago. So if Witter is the mandatory for his jr welter title, then the fight probably won't happen.
