I can sense a "Who is a nicer human being, Tony T or The Gayemaker" poll coming up.

A discerning, reading pundit usually is better placed to make a judgement on fighters accomplishments than a boxer themselves, or worse still, a Klittard-like fan.
Some of the best boxers are criminals or uneducated, so counting that against him doesn't really work. He does do this for a living and is certainly qualified to say who thinks is great.

he is entitled to state his an opinion, that's a qualification everyone carries.

Accuracy of judgement requires depth, reflective ability and lack of bias, which you must know. So why raise the question?

I would add that I amnot saying that boxers NEVER have these skills. But they don't aim to develop them in the way someone who pours over the ranks of boxing for years does.

I dnot deny they have some knowledge, but they are often hardly impartial. Just one example - Jack Johnson still thought he was HW champion of the world when he was 40something and Jack Dempsey was king. How misled up was that opinion of his? Dempsey would have tore his head off by then.

Impartiality is pretty important when it comes to getting facts right, and Tony needs a hard sell these days more than ever. How else is he going to make money now? Its a long hard road to an ever tightening belt for him now.

well if you are going by his resume then he certainly is not an ATG.

I think he's an ATG, but the divide between him and the GOAT at heavyweight is very large.
